Superintendent Update

(HERMANTOWN, MINN., April 1, 2021) -

Dear Parents,

This has been an incredible week for Hermantown with both the boys and girls hockey teams competing at the State Tournament. We are so proud of their accomplishments and appreciate all the hard wok they put in to get to this point.

The boys game was a heartbreaker to watch as our eligible players skated their hearts out trying to help our team advance. For our seniors, this is not how a student-athlete's high school career should end ... I am truly sorry. I appreciate how the coaches and team came together to get through this tough situation.

The girls are still in the tournament as I write this article and, regardless of the outcome, we are proud of their truly dominate season.

Daily case rate in the county continue to spike, so spring break has come at a good time for us to recalibrate. Our ability to go four days a week at middle school and high school is unlikely with the rising rates. We really don't want to be switching back and forth, so I see us just holding onto the hybrid model for the remainder of the year.

I hope you are all enjoying your spring break,
